Vardhman Mahaveer Open University or VMOU is an open university in Kota, Rajasthan. Previously known as Kota Open University, it was established in 1987 to provide open learning education opportunities in Rajasthan. VMOU Kota is recognised by the Distance Education Bureau-University Grants Commission (DEB-UGC) and the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). VMOU Kota is accredited with an A Grade by NAAC.VMOU offers 23 undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate, and PhD courses in the fields of Arts, Science, Education, and Management, among others. Some of the popular courses include BA, BCA, BJ, B.Sc, MBA, MJ, and M.Lib.I.Sc, M.Sc, MA, and MSW. These VMOU courses are offered under 22 departments, 7 regional centres, and 5 schools. VMOU admission is based on a candidate’s academic qualification and performance in entrance exams applicable to the respective courses. The entrance exams accepted by VMOU are CAT, MAT, CMAT, VMOU MET (for MBA), VMOU B.Ed Entrance Test, VMOU M.Sc Entrance Test, VMOU MCA Entrance Test, and VMOU PhD Entrance Test. For diploma and certificate courses, VMOU accepts direct admission.The VMOU campus spans 75 acres and has a total built-up area of 53,033 square meters. It features a well-stocked central library to support various academic and research activities, which is connected with a range of e-resources, including SOUL 2.0, Project MUSE, Wiley-Blackwell Journals, Taylor & Francis, Springer, and J-Gate.
