Suri Vidyasagar College is a Government Sponsored & Constituent College of the University of Burdwan. The college was established in the year 1942. The college was awarded “B+ Grade” by the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council). It is recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC). At Present, the college provides undergraduate level Hons. and General programs in 19 different specializations including English, Bengali, Sanskrit, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Microbiology, Accountancy, Mass Communication, Geography and Arabic. It also provides M.Sc (Master of Science) in Zoology and some certificate programs in the area of Journalism, Tourism and Travel Management, Communicative and Functional English, Waste Management and Pollution Control, Refrigeration Maintenance & Repairing and Industrial Mathematics & Computing. Suri Vidyasagar College is well-equipped with all the modern facilities including a library, laboratory, canteen, gym, sports and auditorium.
