School of Broadcasting and Communication, popularly SBC Mumbai, was founded in 2002 as a part of the Society for Arts & Mass Communication. The Society for Arts & Mass Communication is a non-profit NGO registered under the Registrar of Firms and Societies Act, 1973, Government of Madhya Pradesh, India. SBC Mumbai is a one-of-its-kind institute for students who want a career in the broadcasting and media industry.School of Broadcasting and Communication courses are affiliated with Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism & Communication, Asia’s only journalism university. The institute is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), ACU and the Maharashtra State Board of Vocational Examination. Moreover, the institute has developed partnerships with international universities such as Deakin University and Edith Cowan University for knowledge exchange.The institute offers a number of UG, PG, diploma, and certificate courses in various fields of journalism, broadcasting, and media studies. Placements at School of Broadcasting and Communication help its students to enter the media industry and build a fruitful career in it. SBC Mumbai alumni are placed in top positions in the media industry.
