About NIT Trichy
National Institute of Technology Trichy is situated in the Tiruchirappalli division of Tamilnadu. It was established as a joint venture of the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Government of India in 1964. NIT Trichy was formerly known as the Regional Engineering College Tiruchirappalli. With the approval of the Government of India, NIT Trichy was granted deemed university status in 2003. M.Tech and B.Tech are among the popular NIT Trichy courses. Scores of JEE Main are considered for NIT Trichy B.Tech admissions. As per the NIT Trichy admission criteria, for B.Tech, one has to participate in the JoSAA counselling, whereas, for M.Tech, aspirants have to participate in the CCMT counselling. The rankings for 2024 have been released on the NIRF official website. NIT Trichy NIRF Ranking 2024 for the Architecture and Planning category is 8th. The ranking is released every year by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, based on various parameters, namely Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcomes (GO), Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI) and Peer Perception. As per the NIRF Ranking 2024, NIT Trichy has bagged the 9th position in the engineering category.THE World University Rankings 2023: NIT Trichy was placed in the rank band 801-1000 at the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023. The rankings are based on 13 different factors that measure how well universities teach, do research, share knowledge, and have an international focus. To ensure the rankings are accurate, the researchers studied more than 121 million citations from over 15.5 million research papers and got feedback from 40,000 scholars worldwide. They collected massive information, with over 680,000 data points from more than 2,500 participating universities.

NIT Trichy admission is based on the entrance exam and qualifying exam for various courses. The college offers B.Tech, B.Arch, M.Tech, MS, M.Sc, MCA and many more. For MBA admission, CAT is accepted, which will be held on November, 2025, M.Tech, M.Arch and PhD are based on GATE, which will be held on dates 1,2,15 and 16 February 2025. NIT Trichy fees range from Rs 13150 to Rs 625000 per year, depending on the degree level, duration and specialization of the course. The college offers 55 courses at Ph.D, PG and UG programmes. Furthermore, NIT Trichy offers 11 courses in B.Tech, 1 courses in B.Arch at the UG level. At the PG level, the students can choose a wide range of specializations - 23 courses in M.Tech, 9 course in MS. Admission to NIT Trichy courses are open for the academic year 2024-25. For admission the college conducts DASA UG. In addition to this, scores of CAT, CCMT, NIMCET, NATA, CCMN, JEE Main, JEE Advanced, GATE, IIT JAM are accepted by NIT Trichy.
