National Institute of Technology, Bangalore also known as NIFT Bangalore, is an autonomous government college established in the year 1997 and is located in Bangalore, Karnataka. NIFT has been granted statutory status under the act of Parliament of India in 2006. The college has been ranked 3rd by the India Today ranking under ‘Fashion Design’ category in the year 2024. NIFT Bangalore offers a total of 14 courses at the UG and PG levels. The institute offers Fashion & Lifestyle Accessories, Fashion Communication, Fashion Design, Fashion Technology (B.FTech) - Apparel Production, Knitwear Design and Textile Design courses at the undergraduate level and Master of Fashion Management (MFM), Master of Fashion Technology, M.Des(Master of Design Space) at the PG level. The college provides admission on the basis of an entrance exam. The entrance exams required for admission to the NIFT Bangalore include General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT) for all the courses.The college has a placement cell for the training and placement of students.
