Mewar University is a private university established in the year 2009. The university is promoted under the aegis of the Mewar Education Society (MES). The Mewar University is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), the Bar Council of India (BCI), and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). It is also accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a B grade. This university is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and the Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP).
