About Kingston Law College

Kingston Law College or KLC, as it is popularly referred to, is situated in Barasat, West Bengal and is the largest private Law college in West Bengal in terms of seating capacity. KLC Kolkata was founded in the year 2004 and it is the second private law college to be established in the state. The Kingston Law College Kolkata is affiliated with the Bar Council of India, West Bengal State University and the Ministry of Higher Education of West Bengal. The Kingston law College Kolkata believes in imparting knowledge for the greater benefit of society through a broad range of legal education. At KLC Kolkata, the students are prepared to take on leadership roles and advance in administration, judiciary, corporate legal departments and law firms. Kingston Law College Kolkata offers admission into both the 3-year and 5-year LL.B programmes like LL.B, B.A+LL.B and BBA+LL.B. The institute has laid down separate admission criteria for the programmes it offers. Preference is given to those aspiring candidates who have secured at least 60% or more in aggregate at the previous 10+2 qualifying exam level. The minimum qualifying aggregate marks which the aspiring candidates must have secured is 45% (reserved categories are eligible for relaxation in aggregate score criterion). Meritorious students can also apply for Kingston Law College Kolkata scholarship schemes which can reduce their cost of study considerably. The candidates must be both meritorious and financially challenged to be able to secure the benefits of the KLC Kolkata scholarship schemes. In addition, the students must also maintain a minimum attendance percentage throughout the year to avail the benefits of the scholarship schemes. KLC Kolkata also offers a wide range of legal professional opportunities to the students with the desired skills through its placement and internship programmes. KLC Kolkata students have successfully found placement and internship opportunities with reputed firms like Somani Realtors, Jus Novum, Kshetry and Associates, Pradhan Legal Associates and many more in the past. At the Kingston Law College campus every year, unique and unforgettable experiences are created. The institute organises various events such as Basanta Utsav, Inter-School Soccer competition, tree plantation drive, blood donation camps etc for the overall development of the students. The institute also conducts International Educational & Cultural tour to Indonesia in participation with the Universitas of Lampung Province and Universitas Airlangga to acclimatise the students with the environmental, social and cultural aspects of Indonesia. In the year 2020, the Kingston Law College Kolkata was declared the second best private Law institution in West Bengal by a private ranking body.
