The college was affiliated with University of Mysore initially from 1984 to 1995 and later with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, Bangalore from the year 1995-1996. It has now become a constituent college of the JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (Formerly known as JSS University) established under Section 3 of the UGC Act on May 28, 2008. JSS Medical College is an eminent medical education institution located at Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagara, Mysuru, Karnataka, India.The JSS Medical College has been recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI) as well as prestigious international organisations including the General Medical Council (United Kingdom), Sri Lanka Medical Council and World Health Organisation (WHO) as well. The graduates and postgraduate JSS Medical College courses are recognised by these institutions as well. It has also been awarded MRCOG by the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, UK.The JSS Medical College campus is spread over an area of 43 acres with natural beauty. It offers basic amenities such as an auditorium, lecture halls, library, and hostels to the students so that their education is easy. It also has fully developed pre-clinical departments and para-clinical departments along with the museum. It is also associated with Bharath Hospital & Cancer Research Centre, Mysore to provide services to the poorer section of society.

Courses and Fees
JSS Mysuru fees range from Rs 21433 to Rs 2525000 per year, depending on the degree level, duration and specialization of the course. The college offers 60 courses at UG, Ph.D and PG programmes. Furthermore, JSS Mysuru offers 11 courses in BSc, 1 courses in MBBS at the UG level. At the PG level, the students can choose a wide range of specializations - 18 courses in MD, 11 course in PGD. Admission to JSS Mysuru courses are open for the academic year 2024-25. For admission the college conducts NEET SS. In addition to this, scores of NEET PG, Karnataka 2nd PUC, CBSE 12th, NEET are accepted by JSS Mysuru.
