About IIT Roorkee
Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is an autonomous research university in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. IIT Roorkee, which was founded in 1847 as Thomason College of Civil Engineering, is Asia's oldest technical institution. IIT Roorkee's main campus covers 358.5 acres in Roorkee, Haridwar District. IIT Roorkee has two more campuses: one in Saharanpur (about 30 km from Roorkee) and one in Greater Noida. IIT Roorkee NIRF Ranking 2024 has been released. IIT Roorkee fees range from Rs 8980 to Rs 200000 per year, depending on the degree level, duration and specialization of the course. The college offers 119 courses at Ph.D, PG and UG programmes. Furthermore, IIT Roorkee offers 19 courses in B.Tech+M.Tech, 15 courses in B.Tech at the UG level. At the PG level, the students can choose a wide range of specializations - 57 courses in M.Tech, 12 course in MSc. Admission to IIT Roorkee courses are open for the academic year 2025-26.
