About IIT Palakkad
Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad, is a public university inaugurated in 2015 and is one of the more recent IITs in Kerala. It has been divided into two campuses - a temporary campus at Ahalia Integrated Campus, Palakkad, and a permanent one in Nila, Kanjikode, where academic sessions began in 2019. IIT Palakkad was founded by the director of IIT Palakkad, Dr. Bhaskar Ramamurthi, who is also mentoring the new campus. IIT Palakkad has also placed many of its learned and experienced professors on the Palakkad campus. As a result, the institute now has about 157 teaching and non-teaching staff. There are currently two batches of undergraduate students studying on this campus. The campus offers its students the necessary facilities, including modern classrooms, conference halls, and well-equipped laboratories for their creative and curious minds. IIT Palakkad courses offered apart from B.Tech and M.Tech include MS programmes in all engineering disciplines. In addition, there are also many research and PhD programmes in science and engineering fields at IIT Palakkad.
