Dr C.V Raman University Bilaspur is an Institution of higher learning located in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. The university was established by the All-India Society for Electronics and Computer Technology (AISECT) on November 3, 2006. It is the first private university in Chhattisgarh. The university is named after a renowned Indian physicist and Nobel Laureate, who was also the first president and founding member of the Indian Institutes of Sciences, Dr. C.V. Raman. The university offers many study options for students looking to pursue higher education in the fields of science, engineering, humanities, commerce, journalism, management, law studies, etc. Dr C.V Raman University Bilaspur offers diplomas, undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), doctorate (PhD), and short-term courses in various fields. The university offers skill courses offered by PMKK.It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Bar Council of India (BCI). It is also approved by other important bodies like the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It has the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) grading of “B+” and functions under the AISECT Group of Universities. AISECT is a social enterprise that works in the avenues of skill development, higher education, e-governance, financial inclusion, and other ICTE-based tools. In 2018, the university received the prestigious Young Achievers Award, handed out by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Raman Singh. The university has 70+ patents under its name.
