The CUSB campus is 300 acres big and hosts all the important university buildings. The Central Universities Act, 2009 (Section 25 of 2009) established it as the Central University of Bihar (CUB), and then the Central Universities (Amendment) Act, 2014 altered its name to Central University of South Bihar (CUSB).The CUSB Gaya is recognised by UGC. In addition to qualified faculty members, a high teacher-student ratio, and baskets full of elective courses in various programmes, the university provides a Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) with the total internal evaluation of students' performance at the Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) levels.The Central University of Bihar provides numerous study programmes through the 14 schools, and these are Schools of Mathematics, Statistics & Computer Science, School of Physical and Chemical Sciences, Schools of Earth, Biological and Environmental Science, School of Social Sciences & Policy, School of Human Science, School of Languages & Literature, School of Media, Arts & Aesthetics, Schools of Management, Schools of Education, School of Law & Governance, School of Vocational Studies, School of Technology, School of Health Sciences, and School of Agriculture and Development.

CUSB admission to the courses is based on CUET PG. The college provides 23 courses at the PG level. CUET PG 2025 notification is expected to be released in November 2024 and CUET PG 2025 application is expected to start by the third week of December 2024. For M.Pharm admission, GPAT application is expected to start by 2nd week of February 2025 and the exam can be expected by 1st week of April 2025.
