WBJEE 2024 counselling process is expected to begin in July.The old Regional Computer Centre (RCC), Calcutta (in JU) established the RCC Institute of Information Technology (RCCIIT) in 1999 as a unique collaborative initiative of NIC, Ministry of Communication & IT, Govt. of India, and Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal. The management of RCCIIT was handed from the Government of India to the State Government in 2003. The institute is accredited by NBA and NAAC with a B++ grade. Students need to pass exams like WBJEE, JEE Main, JELET, PGET. GATE, WBJECA, and CET to get admission to RCC Institute of Information Technology.Since then, RCCIIT has been the State's only engineering college managed by an autonomous Society (RCC Institute of Technology) established by the State Government. As one of the State's oldest engineering institutions, it presently ranks among the top ten private and government engineering schools. RCCIIT is the only self-financing engineering college whose Board of Management (BOM) and Governing Body (BOG) are directly constituted by the State Govt. with senior officials from the Higher Education Department, Professors and Administrators from JU and WBJEEB, and eminent academicians and industry persons.Since its founding, the State has contributed significant contributions to the institute's development in terms of land and funds. It boasts best-in-class infrastructure and teaching-learning resources and is in a well-connected location in mega-metro Kolkata, spread on a spacious 4.63 acres of land leased to the college by the State Govt.
