PRIST University is a private university established in the year 2009. The university is also known as Ponnaiyah Ramajayam Institute of Science and Technology University. The university has the affiliation of Bharathidasan University. The university has been recognised by the Tamil Nadu Government and the UGC. The university has received the prestigious NAAC accreditation and has been approved by the AICTE. Bar Council of India (BCI), Council of Architecture (COA), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and NCTE have approved PRIST University. PRIST University courses are offered through eight schools of study which have been listed below:School of Engineering and TechnologySchool of Commerce and Business ManagementSchool of LawSchool of Arts and ScienceSchool of PharmacySchool of EducationSchool of AgricultureSchool of ArchitectureA total of 49 PRIST University courses are offered in Science, Engineering, Law, Medicines, Arts, Management, and research streams with an intake of approximately 900 students in total. PRIST University fees structure varies from programme to programme. PRIST University has also collaborated with IBM –ICE (Innovative Centre for Education) to offer specialised academic programmes like Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning and the Internet of Things. As a result, the PRIST University has attained the MHRD Innovation Council's membership in 2019.The PRIST University campus spreads over 11 acres of land which includes infrastructural facilities such as gym, café, museum, art gallery, student service center, yoga center, health center, hostel, transportation, playground, etc.For PRIST University admissions to the Puducherry campus, students are selected based on their marks in entrance exams. The entrance exams are different for different courses, like for admission in B.Arch, NATA score is needed, GATE for M.Tech, JEE for B.Tech, CAT for MBA, and interview for Ph.D. For some PRIST University courses, admissions are based on the marks obtained in the immediate degree for other courses.PRIST University placement drive has witnessed participation from reputed companies during their placement program. These include Amazon, Acurus Solutions, Apollo Pharmacy, Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, Magus Technologies, Robert Bosch, Vel Tech, and many more.
