Established in 1980, NIA was founded by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, along with the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC), and four public sector insurance companies.Recognition and Accreditation: NIA has been recognized as a Doctoral Research Centre under Savitribai Phule Pune University since 1992 for the Faculty of Management.Accreditation: The Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) program is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and has been granted equivalence to an MBA by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
